When choosing a MilSim paintball marker, you have to ask yourself these three important questions.
How much am I willing to spend?
Paintball markers can range from below $100 USD to above $2000 USD, and everything in between. More than likely, you will get what you pay for, so be mindful of your decision.
What kind of paintball marker do I want?
You can buy paintball guns in Hopper fed, Electric Hopper fed, and most recently, Magazine fed. All paintball markers utilize gas but some hide the gas tank in the buttstock, which gives them a greater sense of realism. Hopper fed guns utilize gravity to feed the marker. Electronic hoppers efficiently feed the marker with gravity and mechanical motion, resulting in fewer double feeds. Magazine fed markers work very similarly to an actual firearm as it feeds the paintball upper wards and into the breach of the marker. In addition, are you playing speedball or woodsball/Mil-Sim?
How often am I going to play?
Are you a beginner who plays short events once a year or do you want a sponsor to pick you up? Baby steps of course, but if you intend on trying to make the big leagues, you are going to want to spend a little more money.
NOTE: Because we are reviewing the Best MilSim Paintball Markers of 2018, we are concentrating on markers that have the most amount of realism. That is to say, most if not all the markers on this list are magazine fed markers.

The Tippmann TMC MAGFED Paintball Marker – Black / Tan is a pneumatic marker with a high performing in-line bolt system. It has a dual feed option, which means it can be hopper or magazine fed. This is the most expensive marker on this list, and for good reason, it is phenomenal. The Dye DAM Assault Matrix Paintball Marker (SilverBack) is a semi-automatic magazine paintball marker, capable of firing in semi, three round burst and fully automatic. Switch the marker from magazine fed to loader fed with the flip of the On-The-Fly-Switch. It also comes with Picatinny rails for adding accessories, gas-through frame, and an ambidextrous magazine release. The marker also comes standard with competition grade Reach Trigger, Hyper3 Regulator, Tactical Sticky Grips, and Clamping feed neck.

2. First Strike T15 Paintball Marker / Rifle – Black
The First Strike T15 Paintball Marker / Rifle – Black by Tiberius Arms is the first of its kind offering a true .68 caliber 1 to 1 AR platform. The T15 features a rugged lightweight cast aluminum body that will withstand the harshest of conditions. The FS T15 PDW by Tiberius Arms is a semi-auto, magazine fed, paintball marker. This marker comes with a standard two position PDW carbine stock and quick disconnect swivel mounts. The body is made of lightweight aluminum and has a 7-inch handguard standard. The barrel length is 8 1/2 inches and comes standard with the Raging Donkey barrel tip.
